Julien Temple, F&ME head to Brazil for rockumentary
by Geoffrey Macnab, Screen daily
UK-based Film & Music Entertainment teams with Julien Temple for rock doc.
Mike Downey and Sam Taylor’s Film & Music Entertainment, F&ME, is Brazil-bound for new rockumentary, Children of the Revolution, to be directed by Julien Temple (Great Rock and Roll Swindle) and developed by Chris Pickard (biographer of Great Train Robber Ronnie Biggs).
Children of the Revolution is scheduled to shoot in Rio de Janeiro in September and October 2011 during the Rock in Rio music festival. The film will look at the musical, social, political, cultural and technical revolutions that have taken place in Rio since the 1970s, the first legendary Rock in Rio Festival in 1985, and today; a period in which the country has gone from being an oppressive military dictatorship to one of the most open and vibrant democracies on the planet.
